MEET THE COACHES
HEAD COACH
JESSE BARTON
What's up guys! My name is Coach Jesse Barton and I have been involved in swimming for over 33 years. Growing up in the Houston area, I attended Caney Creek High School where I swam for four years on varsity and finished 4th at the UIL state meet in the 100 breaststroke. I then swam at Ouachita Baptist University and earned All-American honors in the 400 medley relay. As a coach, I have spent 10 years with summer league teams, 6 years with club swimming, and 14 years as a high school coach. I became the head coach at Bell HS in 2010 and I teach math as well. I am married to my wife Courtney and have three beautiful children.

ALYSSA BUSBEE
Hey y’all! My name is Coach Alyssa Busbee. Since 2022, I have been the assistant swim coach and chemistry teacher at L.D. Bell High School. As an L.D. Bell alumni, I was a member of the L.D. Bell Swim Team under the guidance of Coach Jesse Barton. After high school, I continued my education at the University of Arkansas and earned my Bachelor’s in education and my Master’s in STEM education. I began my education career as a 5th grade teacher, but after a year, I quickly realized that my heart belonged in a high school setting. There is no better feeling than being a Blue Raider and I am so glad to finally be home!
